Toby Evans

Toby is a chartered physiotherapist who specialises in sports and musculoskeletal based physiotherapy. He has extensive experience of working in elite level football clubs as well as other sports such as rugby, tennis, squash, triathlon and horse racing. Toby has also worked in private practice and occupational health so he also has extensive clinical experience working with those who are primarily desk based in their occupation and the weekend warriors.
Toby graduated with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy in 2014, having previously completed a Bachelors of Science in Sport & Exercise Science. He then went on to further specialise in sports physiotherapy by completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport & Exercise Medicine. Having an extensive education history combined with extensive experience of working alongside strength and conditioning coaches, Toby is passionate about treating the patient holistically by analysing training type and load, and creating detailed rehabilitation programmes which take the client on a journey from acute injury to return to performance, whilst developing injury prevention strategies to mitigate risk of injury in the future.
Clinical Specialities
Toby would consider himself as a lower limb specialist, however is more than competent in dealing with any upper limb or back related injury. In particular, Toby has extensive experience rehabilitating anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL) injuries in the knee. He is passionate about finding the biomechanical cause to people's pain and will often be seen analysing the way that his patient's move through gait analysis and functional movement screens. Toby is also interested in the female athlete, having worked in female sport for a number of years, he has a particular interest in the link between menstruation and injury.

Toby's Passions

Toby is a keen sportsman, participating in everything and anything including triathlon, squash, tennis, skiing and football. He is always looking for adventure and the next big challenge. He has just completed a 9-month round the world cycle trip on a tandem bicycle with his partner, raising money for MIND and Save the Children. Other previous accomplishments include cycling from London to Paris in under 24 hours and climbing the national three peaks in under 24 hours.
